- National Coming Out Days at MSU
- National Coming Out Day (NCOD) is October 11. Events organized by student LBGTA
groups leading up to NCOD begin Sunday, October 5!

- National Coming Out Day at LCC
- The Lansing Community College Gay Straight Alliance is having a Coming Out Day with
free fun and educational activities: Friday, October 10, 1:00 - 6:00 pm,
Arts and Sciences Room 170, on the LCC main campus in downtown Lansing.

- Pre-Election Panel Discussion
- October 21, Tuesday, 7:30 pm, 342 Case Hall.
Please join GLFSA,
Michigan Equality,
and LAHR-PAC (the Political Action Committee of the
Lansing Association for Human Rights) for a pre-election
panel on LBGT issues. LAHR-PAC will discuss its ratings of local and area candidates.
Michigan Equality will discuss the candidates and issues at the state level. Particular
attention will be paid to races and issues not receiving extensive media coverage.
Refreshments available.

- "In the wake of one of the most violent years on record of assaults on transgender people,
the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE)
and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
(NGLTF) have teamed up on a
comprehensive
national survey to collect data on discrimination against transgender people in housing,
employment, public accommodations, healthcare, education, family life and criminal justice."
