Mission
The LBGT Resource Center* leads and collaborates on university-wide initiatives that
enhance campus climate and academic and support services for students
who identify as lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender and/or transsexual, and their
communities, at Michigan State University.
Services
The LBGT Resource Center:
- assists lesbian, bisexual, gay and/or transgender (LBGT) students in addressing
personal and academic concerns
- supports and empowers LBGT campus leaders and group advisors
- collaborates on social networking and events for LBGT graduate students
- leads and collaborates on campus-wide educational programs and training about gender
identity and sexual orientation issues
- coordinates responses to anti-LBGT bias incidents
- provides consultation to faculty and staff on LBGT student and community issues
- leads and collaborates in research initiatives on LBGT campus climate and student identities
- provides administrative support for three LBGT-focused scholarships
- serves as a liaison to GLBT alumni and faculty/staff organizations
The LBGT Resource Center is in room 302 of the Student Services Building.
